Charlestowne reveals our top 5 tips for improving suite bookings

Low occupancy in your high-value rooms got you spooked?

1. Educate

First and foremost, ensure your front desk and reservation teams are confidently familiar with the distinctive attributes that set your suites apart. They should have details like square-footage, kitchen capabilities, and special features readily available when handling reservations. This information–along with ample imagery–should also be prominently featured on your hotel’s website.

2. Offer

In most cases, guests with reservations are already receiving pre-arrival communication for your hotel–why not use it to educate your guests about available upgrades? Charlestowne has partnered with various industry leaders to offer properties two-way interface CRM platforms that can dynamically push available room upgrades.

3. Reward

Especially for independent hotels without the pull of major brand point programs, complimentary room upgrades are a great way to reward your most loyal and high-value guests.

4. Adjust

Our revenue managers are constantly adjusting room differentials of higher-value inventory to line up with the seasons’ demand. As such, periods with lower differentials, such as the shoulder and off-seasons, are prime times to encourage guests to upgrade.

5. Create

A hotel’s most luxurious rooms deserve an elevated experience unique to them. Consider having the Hotel Manager greet these guests with a special cocktail, keys already in hand to lead them to their room. Peppering in these added surprise and delights helps to create a suite experience before guests even open their door.
