Lake Geneva, WI – The Cove of Lake Geneva is currently seeking a dynamic, experienced and motivated individual for the position of Overnight Security Officer. The position requires a high level of professionalism, excellent organization, communication skills, and detail orientation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that policies of the hotel are enforced
  • Maintains, records, investigates and reports all guest, non-guest and team member related incidents
  • Recognizes potential safety and security hazards and makes appropriate recommendations for correction
  • Complete daily activity security report
  • Conducts foot patrols, walking, climbing stairs in the interior/exterior of hotel
  • Ensures all areas of the hotel are secure when not in use
  • Assists in maintaining both the Indoor and Outdoor Pool areas
  • Assists Guest Services in the delivery of amenities to guest rooms
  • Assists the engineering department with overnight guest calls
  • Monitors life safety systems including layout of entire building, alarm pull stations, location of fire extinguishers and sprinklers
  • Handles undesired conduct, violations of civil law and hotel policy as warranted for the security of the guests, employees, patrons, and residents
  • Understands and follows policies and procedures for the hotel’s key system
  • Ensures security camera system is fully operational and functional
  • Accept, log, and deliver packages for hotel guests
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Engineering

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in hotel or apartment/condo security related job is helpful
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including holidays and weekends
  • Stand and/or walk for varying lengths of time, often long periods
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and written, with guests and coworkers, i.e., provide information, answer questions, review maps, give directions, assist with problems and service recovery, etc.
  • Required manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment
  • Knowledge with computers
  • Be familiar with the hotel’s amenities and their hours of operation
  • Work in an environment that is demanding and physical with fluctuating adverse temperatures
  • Frequent reaching, stretching, bending, stooping, walking, standing, handling, talking and smiling
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds on an individual basis, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds
