Stowe, VT- A hotel maintenance person has to perform various tasks like general maintenance, preventive and emergency maintenance of the hotel. There are various kinds of maintenance employees deployed for different types of maintenance and repairs work. Generally, hotel maintenance is done in restaurants, front desk, rooms, parking, lobbies, restrooms and elevators of a hotel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for cleanliness, orderliness and appearance of the entire Hotel.
  • Makes general repairs: Minor repairs on general plumbing systems and fixtures, e.g., leaking faucet, repairing a sink drain
  • Assists in the administration of an on-going preventive maintenance program for equipment and guest rooms
  • Performs planned maintenance on equipment to prolong life and prevent shutdown, e.g., minor lubrications, adjustments, and cleaning
  • Assists in responding to all guest and staff needs
  • Performs elementary painting and repairing of walls, furniture, cabinets, and windows, door locks and keys
  • Performs minor electrical and mechanical repairs
  • Performs minor repairs on fans and air conditioners
  • Performs routine plumbing repairs
  • Performs rough carpentry work
  • Assists in administration of special maintenance programs
  • Assists in the maintenance of departmental tools, workspaces, and equipment
  • Clean and maintain the lobby and lounge area as needed
  • Assist in the distribution of soiled linens, sheets, terry and pillowcases
  • Distribute clean linen to the floor linen rooms when laundry attendants need assistance
  • Assist housekeepers with supplies, cribs, and roll-aways
  • Empty trash and linen from housekeepers’ carts
  • Clean and maintain floor linen rooms
  • Clean outside parking areas of trash and debris
  • Vacuum corridors and stairways
  • Empty all trash from linen rooms
  • Clean outside parking areas of trash and debris
  • Vacuum corridors and stairways
  • Empty all trash from linen rooms to dumpster
  • Clean glass indoors throughout the hotel
  • Know/observes safety precautions and fire safety procedures and emergency action plans
    and use of fire control/alarm systems and extinguishers
  • All other duties as assigned

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

  • The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Good working knowledge of accepted standards of sanitation.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests other team members.
  • Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, move goods weighing a maximum of 50 lbs. on a continuous schedule.
  • Ability to stand and to work continuously in confined spaces.
  • Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges.
  • The hospitality business functions seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day. In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
