Asheville, NC -The Houseperson is responsible for clearing rooms of linen, trash, replenishing supplies and preparing guest rooms for Room Attendants to clean. They also deliver housekeeping items to guest rooms and provide customers with quality service in a timely and friendly manner. The Houseperson is also responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the guest hallways, linen closets and housekeeping supplies.


  • Remove dirty linen, trash, and used guest supplies including glassware and service items from guest rooms.
  • Clean and maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the hallways, and housekeeping storage, carts and supplies
  • Deliver housekeeping items (hair dryers, ironing boards, irons, etc.) to guest rooms upon request
  • Check and replenish supplies and cleaning tools
  • Greet each guest you in a friendly and professional manner
  • Respond to guest requests in a timely and friendly matter
  • Follow procedures for entering and leaving guest rooms
  • Return lost items found in guest rooms, hallways, or back of the house to the Housekeeping department as a “lost and found”


    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related
    experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
    instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.


    Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
    Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement,
    volume, and distance.


    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral,
    or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in
    standardized situations.
