Description

Tuscaloosa, AL – The Housekeeping Room Inspector position will inspect guest rooms of the hotel to ensure cleanliness, service and brand standards are in compliance.

Duties Include:

  • Inspector is expected to be trained, able, and willing to perform all housekeeping duties and have expansive knowledge of hotel housekeeping tasks
  • Responsible for inspecting all guest rooms and commercial areas of the hotel
  • Ensure the highest cleanliness standards are maintained and will direct associates to correct any deficiencies
  • Assist Housekeeping Director in performing daily duties
  • Assigns workers their duties and inspects work to luxury standards of cleanliness
  • Obtains list of rooms to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective check-outs or discharges to prepare work assignments
  • Ensures status is updated in PMS system and guest room status is communicated to the Front Desk in a timely and efficient manner
  • Will assist with orientation, in-service training, explain policies, work procedures, and to demonstrate use and maintenance of equipment
  • Works with manager on guest complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment, and takes corrective action
  • Will be responsible for any lost and found on day of service will record and follow up with Front Desk for returning property to guests
  • Completing graded inspections of public areas and housemen’s checklists
  • Overseeing deep clean public area projects
  • Inspecting laundry productivity
  • Assist team inspecting arrival rooms to reach 3:00pm arrival goal when needed
  • Check out room attendants at EOD and oversee cart inspections & storage cleanliness
  • Review any issues with MOD prior to leaving at end of shift

Requirements:

  • 1-year hotel experience required (luxury hotel experience strongly preferred)
  • 1-year housekeeping experience required
  • Flexible schedule is required and must be willing to work nights, weekends, holidays, and other dates that meet the demands of a luxury hotel environment
  • Excellent verbal and written English language skills required
  • Strength in organization and time management skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Performance driven, assertive, self-motivator, and hardworking
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Report to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed and in regulation with company dress code policy
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
