Charleston, SC – The Banquet Captain is responsible for organization and execution of event details the day of the event. Banquet Captain will offer personalized solutions for our clients and with our kitchen and banquet team to ensure we exceed our clientele’s expectations. The ideal candidate will possess management and client relation skills and good knowledge of the local wedding, corporate, and social market. The Banquet Captain represents the DoubleTree by Hilton to our clients, guests, and other business partners and will maintain the highest level of professionalism and customer service. Job Duties:

  • Oversees banquet operations and executes all banquet service details
  • Executes banquet in accordance to the Banquet Event Orders, floor plan, room set up, timelines, rental orders, décor details, cost and billing details and any other requirements for the event
  • Responsible for the performance and supervision of the banquet staff, and ensuring that the staff is prepared beforehand
  • Maintains equipment and facilities in an organized, clean and safe environment
  • Inspects table place settings, including table linen, china, glass, silverware, and condiments for correct placement and ensures that each element is clean, undamaged, and attractive
  • Ensures proper setting of buffet tables and other food service tables
  • Collaborates and maintains contact with kitchen, sales, vendors and other departments
  • Completes monthly inventories, event reports, post-event files and submits all invoices, receipts, and closing inventories to appropriate manager in a timely manner
  • Supervises post banquet cleanup
  • Participates in staff meetings and BEO meetings
  • Completes any administrative tasks assigned by Banquet Manager


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality, or a related business degree, is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in Banquets, Food and Beverage, Conference Services, or a related area is required
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required
  • Positive personal and customer service skills required
  • Flexible availability, including nights and weekends
  • Banquet Captain or related: 2 years
