Charleston, SC – The Relief Night Audit responsibilities include nightly balancing duties, daily paperwork, shift reports, and services that include registration and check-out during the overnight hours of 11pm-7am. The Night Auditor also provides prompt, courteous and efficient handling of all requests for guest room reservations, changes, and cancellations in accordance with established standards and/or scripts. This position responds to and provides information on hotel services, local attractions, travel directions, etc. and is part of a very limited team at certain points of the night. This position must ensure the guests and property are safe and secure. Prior experience preferred. The Relief Night Auditor must be able to work every Friday and Saturday from 11pm until 7am.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:

  • Prepare all daily reports and distribute to respective management
  • Perform key inventory
  • Communicate all pertinent shift information to Management and other desk staff
  • Maintain and clean the lobby and bathroom as needed
  • Review arrivals noting special requests – blocking rooms as needed
  • Check in and out hotel guests in a confident, professional and friendly manner
  • Answer all phone calls promptly and knowledgeably – always ensuring complete and accurate information
  • Complete all items on appropriate (AM, PM, Overnight) checklist by end of shift
  • Conduct pre-assignment of hotel rooms, which includes VIPS, repeat guests and any special requests
  • Follow established key control policy
  • Ensure proper credit policies are followed
  • Submit all lost & found articles accompanied by a completed lost & found report
  • Knowledgeable of immediate area, services, attractions, and events
  • Knowledgeable of fire and emergency procedures
  • Open, secure, and balance out daily shift bank which involves counting and verifying cash, check, and credit card transactions occurring while on duty
  • Assist guests with local information and concierge needs
  • Performs all other duties as directed by immediate supervisor
  • Other Department related duties as become necessary

ENVIRONMENT & POSITION ANALYSIS:

  • Move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Stand or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift
  • Requires repetitive motion

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Knowledge, Training, & Work Experience):

  • Prior experience a plus, but not required
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Able to complete tasks without supervision
