Description

Charleston, SC – The Breakfast Restaurant Server assists with the hotels guests in the Lighthouse Café. S/he will be responsible for exemplifying the DoubleTree Culture and the following:

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Checks stations to ensure they are clean and stocked
  • Attends pre-service line-up meeting
  • Welcome and greet members and guests within 60 seconds of being seated. Make all our members and guests feel special and let them know you’re there to personally take care of them
  • Prepares the tables, laying out napkins and utensils, making sure the condiments are refilled, performing all other preparation tasks
  • Takes orders; relays special cooking instructions
  • Maintains water, juice, coffee and tea
  • Keeps a constant eye on food orders being prepared; always watching the “flow of food”
  • Checks back to ensure member and guest satisfaction
  • Removes soiled dishes
  • Resets table with silverware, glassware and other items
  • Ensures the proper utensils have been cleared between course and reset with new utensils
  • Ensures service station and side stands stay clean and presentable throughout the serving period
  • Advises Restaurant Manager/Restaurant Supervisor of any complaints as soon as they occur
  • Thanks guests upon departure and invites them to return
  • Ensures stations are cleaned at the end of the given meal period
  • Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by Restaurant Manager/Restaurant Supervisor
  • Re-sets table at the end of shift for the next meal period.
  • Consistently complies with all state and local laws and the Club’s policies relating to the service of alcohol; informs manager/Lead Server if service to a member or guest is questionable.
  • Adheres to the Food & Beverage Uniform and Appearance Guide
  • Filling in for absent staff as needed; working closely with other wait staff and the kitchen to ensure the restaurant is operated efficiently

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to develop an understanding of concepts, practices, pre-established guidelines and procedures used by the company in relation to guest service is necessary

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and talk or hear
  • The employee is frequently required to stoop kneel, crouch or crawl and taste or smell
  • The employee must regular lift and or move up to 25lbs – occasionally lift or move up to 50lbs
