Description

Charleston, SC – The Marketing Project Specialist is a key player working closely with a Marketing Strategy Manager at the corporate headquarters located in Charleston, SC. This position is instrumental in the successful oversight of a collection of hotels and digital agencies to implement and execute marketing action plans designed to drive strategic marketing goals for a group of assets within the Charlestowne Hotels’ portfolio. The position will drive collaboration, workflow, deliverables and successful execution of integrated marketing tactics in coordination with core team members and vendors.

Directives:

  • Oversight, management, and execution of marketing action plans
  • Execute reactive needs, job requests, and marketing tactics
  • Support Marketing Strategy Manager in the overall marketing satisfaction and success of each hotel
  • Asset organization and execution
  • System integration/support
  • Oversees deliverables from digital agency

Responsibilities:

  • Pro-active communication with Marketing Strategy Manager, Revenue Manager, General Managers, and vendors to ensure all pertinent information is available to complete project requests
  • Manage day-to-day trafficking and workflow for all creative, web and marketing services projects
  • Route layouts, copy, proofs, and other project elements for approval; confirm delivery of approved art files to all outside vendors
  • Define, create, execute and manage targeted marketing and inbound marketing campaigns focused on building brand awareness, driving credibility and generating leads for clients
  • Coordinate scheduling and workflow for jobs utilizing project management software
  • Maintain project flow, proactively alerting stakeholders of upcoming project milestones and required deliverables
  • Actively reinforce workflow processes and procedures as needed to drive department efficiencies for on time delivery of marketing assets against deadlines
  • Review all job requests and execute, or distribute to appropriate vendor for completion
  • Ensure all marketing materials undergo brand review and adhere to strict brand guidelines
  • Keep Marketing Strategy Manager informed of marketing activities and challenges
  • Work with Marketing Strategy and Creative teams to ensure campaigns are planned and executed according to marketing plans
  • Work with team to tie marketing initiatives into overall integrated marketing plan and maintain internal calendar of all programs
  • Handle special projects that may be assigned outside the scope of daily work
  • Maintain files, information and digital assets
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly marketing reports

Skills and Attributes:

  • Posses nimbleness with changing client objectives

  • Technical proficiency and understanding of marketing platforms and related tools such as but not limited to: CRM, CMS, analytics, paid media, social media, and email marketing
  • Ability to lead cross functionally and influence up, down and across the marketing department
  • Posses project management proficiencies to effectively and efficiently plan, execute and evaluate results individually and through others.
  • Experience with project management software
  • Proficient with Adobe Suites including but not limited to Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
  • Creative eye for design and design consistency
  • Understanding of HTML
  • Above-average command of the English language including grammar, spelling and standard editing techniques
  • Experience in Google Apps/Microsoft Office applications

Travel Expectations:

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, project management or related field
  • Minimum of three (3) years related experience
  • Travel/hotel industry experience preferred but not required
