Charlestowne Hotels Proudly Opens The Spectator Hotel

Charleston boutique is the 4th hotel opened by Charlestowne for developers

The Spectator Hotel officially opened its doors on July 16, 2015, during a spectacular Grand Opening Celebration. Located in the French Quarter adjacent to the Old City Market at the corner of State and Linguard Streets, the three-level, 41-room property draws inspiration from the Roaring Twenties in both its architectural design and eclectic art-deco style. Like The Spectator Hotel itself, the Grand Opening Celebration channeled the ‘20s elegant and sophisticated era by incorporating period-correct dancers, a Jazz band, and a dramatic unveiling of the front marquee. A common thread among the speakers at the event was the collaboration and attention to detail that went into creating this unique luxury hotel – a true “crown jewel” for the city.

Developed by Charleston natives Jay Keenan and Batson Hewitt, The Spectator Hotel is positioned to satisfy the Charleston hotel market’s demand for luxury hotel rooms with the services that discerning travelers have come to expect from the finest hotels. Architect Steve Ramos at LS3P Associates Ltd and interior designer Jenny Keenan helped to develop The Spectator’s unique brand and identity, which culminated into a well-defined and stunning final concept. The hotel contains 41 luxuriously appointed guest rooms with a social gathering area and stunning bar featuring Prohibition-era cocktails. All public areas and guest rooms feature original artwork and guests receive a gourmet continental breakfast served daily.

“After opening and operating many award winning boutique hotels, we are energized by the opportunity to bring Charleston what we anticipate will be the finest hotel in the city,” says Charlestowne Hotels COO & President, Michael Tall. “Collaborating with Batson and Jay’s design team to create an unparalleled product and Charleston experience has been a hotelier’s dream come true. We look forward to producing similar returns that we have seen from the other three hotels we opened and manage for them.”
